Often picking the right people to do a  job becomes a job in itself. Keep the following in mind to make the process go as smoothly as possible:
     
       • Make sure the company has liability and workers' compensation          insurance, and for how much. Ask them for a Certificate of          Insurance. If they cannot provide one, then ask why..
       • Get a list of references and verify time in business. 
       • Require a detailed, written estimate. Once again if they are          unwilling to do this, then move on to another company.
       • Ask for a workmanship warranty that covers any defects in the work          for at least three years.
